Description:
Luxitex 209 is a specially developed Sequestering(chelating)Agent for polyester dyeing & printing. Luxitex 209 is a solution for Iron impurities in an acidic environment in high temperatures. In these conditions, other traditional sequestering agents dont provide adequate protection.
Physical & Chemical Properties:
Forms The Water-Soluble Chalets that contain Iron under Acidic Conditions. Luxitex 209 Is Less Effective for Calcium & Magnesium Impurities. However, These Impurities Do Not Affect Polyester Dyeing & Printing.
Theoretical Aspect:
Disperse colors are water-insoluble colors and do not suffer from calcium(Ca) and Magnesium (Mg) impurities found in the water (which is usually referred to by the name of hard water). Surface or well water waters can have Ca and Mg impurities that arent harmful to disperse dyeing. However, they may also contain Iron(Fe)impurities which can be dangerous in dispersing dyeing and printing. Copper and iron impurities react in the anthraxquinonoid (AQ) category of dispersed dyes to create compounds that dissolve in water and are of various tones. When the color is made water-soluble, its not suitable for dyeing with polyester dyeing. Thus in the presence of these impurities, the color value and the tone of these colors are diminished. The technique of discharge printing using cupric acetate rests on this concept. Copper impurities are incredibly scarce, except rolling printing, with the engraved copper rolls. This is no longer in use. Iron impurities are absorbed through printing gums, water, and another dyeing, and printing aids are introduced during dyeing and printing. In finishing, iron impurities are introduced via finishing chemicals and iron drums utilized for creating finishing solutions.
Most Common Difficulties Encountered by Processor:
- Bluish watermarks appear on Pink REL, or red BEL printed or dyed materials. Sometimes its observed that printings or dyeings with no faults are affected upon the finishing process and turn blue.
- In the case, the case of Navy Blue RE (even though its not a color of AQ), the compound created by iron has more significant in size particles than its color, and it is then filtered over a couple of layers of fabric in beam, cheese or cone dyeing devices. The cloths inner layer or yarn is left uncolored, and the outside muddy complexes are filtered out.
Application in Dyeing & Printing:
Luxitex 209 1 gm/kg for the printing paste and 1 gm/lit for dyeing baths are recommended as first add water or gum. Luxitex 209, as a sequestering ingredient, is always the first ingredient added to other additives such as chemical colors, colors, etc. Sequestering is more preventive than a correction. The viscosity of gum increases with the adding Luxitex 209 in the form of a gum component that is dissolved by metallic impurities is released to contribute to the viscosity. Insoluble gum causes harshness in printing.
